The King James Bible is probably the most printed book in the historical past of the world. Any so-called “1611” King James Version you buy today on the native Christian Bookstore is completely NOT the 1611. .. it is the 1769 Baskerville Birmingham revision, although it admits that nowhere, and may even say “1611” in the front… it’s simply not true. Prepare to be shocked! The spellings have been revised, and a few words changed, in virtually every printing done since 1769, and fourteen whole books plus additional prefatory features have been removed from virtually every printing carried out since 1885!

The 1611 King James Bible was writen more than four hundred years ago when the English language was totally different. The unique 1611 A.D. text, written in Early Modern English, shows the language in closer affiliation with its Latin roots. Spelling was in Jacobean fashion which was not completely standardized, however could probably be read phonetically. The original typeface was in Gothic fashion. Although both the typestyle and the older language may be thought-about tough to read by some twenty first Century English readers, the King James Version is acknowledged and revered for its beauty, cadence, and poetic really feel.

English spelling variations in John 3:16

- U = V (Example: loued = liked; gauve = gave)

- y with 'e' above it was used as characterize the 'thorn' character, which implies 'the')

- nn (Sonne = Son)

Other spelling differences

- V = U (Example: vnto = unto See John 1:11)

- VV = W (Example: svvord = sword) The V was called a 'U', that is why we still name a W a 'double U'

- I = J (Example: Iesus = Jesus See John 1:17)

- Long s letters look just like f letters (Notice the 'Old Testament' type instance on the right)
