What Is a Psalm?
The Book of Psalms, Tehillim in Hebrew (תְּהִלִּים or תהילים that means Praises), generally referred to easily as Psalms or the Psalms, is the primary guide of the Ketuvim (Writings), the third section of the Hebrew Bible. The title is derived from the Greek translation, ψαλμοί psalmoi, which means instrumental music and, by extension, the phrases accompanying the music. The guide is an anthology of individual psalms, with 150 within the Jewish and Western Christian custom and extra in the Eastern Christian churches. Many of the psalms are linked to the identify of King David, though his authorship isn't accepted by trendy Bible students.
