NEW TESTAMENT

The New Testament is the second part of the Bible and is made up of a set of books and letters written after the demise of Jesus.

In the New Testament we find a lot of information about the lifetime of Jesus, his motion on earth, his evangelization and his teachings.

Although Christians share the Old Testament with the Jews, the New Testament is solely Christian.

The New Testament is made up of 27 books, similar to the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the epistles and the ultimate chapter called the Apocalypse.

The phrase “Testament” comes from the Hebrew “ berith” which suggests alliance, covenant, settlement and from the Latin Testamentum, and refers back to the pact or alliance between God and human beings.
